Welcome to the Portland Pediatric Group, LLP.  We are a medical group specializing in newborns, children and young adults. Conveniently located in Irondequoit, we serve all of Monroe County and beyond.  Our physicians have faculty appointments at the University of Rochester, and admitting privileges at Rochester General Hospital and Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong.  Some of our physicians also see newborns at Highland Hospital and Unity (Park Ridge) Hospital.

The Portland Pediatric Group has a caring team of trained nurses.  Our staff is friendly, highly qualified and committed to helping you improve your family's health and well being.

Do you have any philosophies about taking care of kids?
We feel strongly that patients get the best care from doctors who know them well.  Our pediatricians see their own patients in the newborn nursery, for well child checks, and if admitted to the hospital.  Although we expect that occasionally kids will be ill when their doctor is out of the office, we also see our own patients for sick visits whenever possible.  This continuity of care leads to a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship.

Do you have walk-in hours?
No.  We guarantee same day appointments for illness.  This way, our patients can be seen when they arrive and be on their way swiftly.

Which doctor is in which office?
Drs. Bosco, Holmes, Davis, and Preston work in the Irondequoit office.  Dr. Cordaro is primarily in the Webster office on weekdays.  The doctors rotate weekends at the Irondequoit office.  Webster patients are seen at the Irondequoit office on weekends.

Which hospitals do the doctors go to?
Dr. Holmes:  Strong, RGH
Dr. Davis:  Strong, RGH, Highland
Dr. Preston:  Strong, RGH, Highland, Unity (Park Ridge)
Dr. Cordaro:  Strong, RGH, Highland

It's after hours and I think my child is really sick.  What should I do? 
In general, we recommend that you call the doctor on call (342-5665) before deciding to go to the emergency department.  See our Resources page for more on emergencies and after hours options.

Why aren't you called Hudson Pediatric Group?
The group was founded by Dr. Bosco and Dr. Joseph Incavo on Portland Avenue in 1966.  We moved to our new office in 2000.  After 34 years of service, the name was well identified with the physicians and just stuck.
